Dear Mt Zaagkam School Community,<\/p>

I would like to share a few updates from around the school as we approach the end of quarter 3.<\/p>

Our Middle School trip to Bali was a great success! Students had an amazing time, with highlights including their visit to a turtle conservation center, where they learned about protecting marine life and sustainability. Students will be sharing their research projects on April 1st. More information coming soon!<\/p>

KK Sports Camp is happening next week, and students are already excited! It will be a great opportunity for collaboration with YPJ and local clubs, with activities such as soccer clinics, swim meets, and more. Looking forward to an active and engaging experience for all involved!<\/p>

Today we celebrated the International Week of Multilingualism, a vibrant, schoolwide celebration of languages and cultures. Students explored linguistic diversity and deepened their appreciation for the many languages spoken in our community. The week culminated in a joyful flag parade, community dance, and international potluck. A big thank you to Miss Lisa, Mr. Greg, and Ibu Susan for their thoughtful coordination, to our amazing moms for sharing their cultures through delicious dishes, and to the PTA for sponsoring the food.<\/p>

Upcoming Events & Important Notices (This is a repeat notice for your reference)<\/strong><\/b><\/p>

As we move through the semester, there are many exciting learning opportunities, community events, and celebrations planned<\/strong><\/b> for our students. Below is a snapshot of what is coming up.<\/p>

MZS Events<\/strong><\/b><\/p>

  • 23\u201324 March \u2013 MZS Safety Days.<\/strong><\/b> Interactive sessions with PTFI’s safety and emergency services. Students learn practical safety skills and how to respond confidently in different situations.<\/li>
  • 25\u201327 March \u2013 KK Sports Camp.\u00a0<\/strong><\/b>We will once again host our Sports Day in Kuala Kencana (KK). Last year this event was very well received by students and families. It provided students with a fantastic opportunity to participate in soccer activities alongside Indonesian players from the local soccer academy and to experience elements of elite training.<\/li>
  • 27 March \u2013 PreK\u2013Grade 3 Games Day.<\/strong><\/b> A fun day of games organized by Grade 3 for younger learners. Students build community spirit, leadership skills, and enjoy active play.<\/li>
  • 30 March \u2013 2 April \u2013 Student-Led Conferences.<\/strong><\/b> Students share their learning progress directly with their parents. This empowers students to reflect on their growth and take ownership of their learning.<\/li>
  • 24 April \u2013 Ibu Kartini Day.<\/strong><\/b> A national celebration honoring Indonesian women\u2019s empowerment. Students learn about Indonesian history, culture, and important national figures.<\/li>
  • 25 April \u2013 Earth Day.\u00a0<\/strong><\/b>Schoolwide environmental activities and projects led by G4 and 5. Students explore sustainability and their role in protecting the planet.<\/li>
  • 9 May \u2013 MZS\/YPJ Choir Vocal Competition.\u00a0<\/strong><\/b>A second music event celebrating vocal performance. Students continue developing confidence and musical skills.<\/li>
  • 18\u201322 May \u2013 Literacy Week.\u00a0<\/strong><\/b>A week dedicated to reading, storytelling, and writing. Students strengthen their literacy skills and develop a love for reading.<\/li>
  • 25\u201330 May \u2013 Transition to Boarding School Program.<\/strong><\/b> Preparation activities for students moving on to boarding schools. G6-8students develop independence, life skills, and readiness for their next learning journey.<\/li>
  • 1\u20135 June \u2013 Quarter 4 Parent-Teacher Conferences.\u00a0<\/strong><\/b>Data led meetings between families and teachers. This is an opportunity to discuss student progress and next learning goals.<\/li>
  • 12 June \u2013 End of Semester Art Show<\/strong><\/b>. A celebration of student artwork and musical skills from across the school.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>

    We will also hold our next Community Engagement session in Quarter 4, Thursday, April 30, 5:00 – 6:00 pm<\/strong><\/b>, during which we will provide further updates on staffing, a strategic planning update, feedback, and developments related to the new campus.<\/p>

    PTA Sponsored Events<\/strong><\/b><\/p>

    Our PTA continues to enrich school life with wonderful community activities.<\/p>

    • 25 April \u2013 MZS\/YPJ Movie Night.\u00a0<\/strong><\/b>A community movie evening for families. A chance to relax together and build school community.<\/li>
    • 26 April \u2013 2 May \u2013 Gymnastics Program.\u00a0<\/strong><\/b>A week of gymnastics activities for students. Students develop coordination, balance, and physical confidence.<\/li>
    • 2\u20133 May \u2013 Family Weekend Soccer Clinic (KK).\u00a0<\/strong><\/b>Soccer clinic that will allow students to further develop their skills and enjoy time together being active.<\/li>
    • 4 May \u2013 Visiting Author (Ibu Enda).<\/strong><\/b> A special visit from an author to speak with students. Students gain inspiration for reading and writing.<\/li>
    • 8 May \u2013 Hot Lunch.<\/strong><\/b> These events are always a popular part of school life and a great opportunity for students and the community to connect.<\/li>
    • 16 May \u2013 MZS Quiz Night.\u00a0<\/strong><\/b>Our much-anticipated community trivia evening, themed \u201cWelcome to the Jungle.\u201d Families and staff will come together for a fun and lively social evening filled with friendly competition and community spirit.<\/li>
    • 1\u201310 June \u2013 Engineering for Kids Program.\u00a0<\/strong><\/b>Hands-on STEM activities for students. Students explore creativity, design, and problem-solving.<\/li>
    • 10 June \u2013 PTA Meeting & Celebration at the Lupe.<\/strong><\/b> Join us for an end-of-year gathering for the PTA community! A chance to reflect on the year and celebrate together.<\/li><\/ul>

      We will also continue to host assemblies and parent learning opportunities throughout the semester. Please keep an eye on Toddle announcements and the activities calendar for the latest updates.<\/p>
